Checking for Lice

Most likely you are here because you have already found lice! It is very important to check EVERYONE in your home to be sure you treat anyone infected.

Note: If you already have a quality lice comb at home, you can watch the "How to Check for Lice with a Lice Comb" video below.

Lice Prevention

Once you are lice free, we want to keep it that way! So here a a few things you can do to prevent lice.

1. Keep your child's hair pulled back into a bun or braid when going out of the house for several weeks after treatment. Lice primarily spread from head to head contact.

2. After pulling your child's hair back into a bun, spray their hair with a natural spray containing essential oils that are known to repel lice. There are many options available for purchase or make your own.

Lice Repelling Essential Oils

1.  Rosemary

2. Tea Tree Oil

3. Eucalyptus

4. Lavender

3. Be a friend, tell a friend. If you find lice, it is VERY important you tell those that have had close contact with your child/children so they can get rid of lice too and ensure your child/children will not become reinfected. Also alert your classroom or school if necessary.

4. Don't share brushes or hats with other children and ensure all brushes have been properly boiled before use after treatment.

5. Make sure to follow our cleaning checklist to ensure all lice have been removed from home.
